Sub Soiller

Designed for deep-tillage and soil-compaction reversal, the 1-Arm Sub-Soiler is a robust implement that allows farmers to break through the hard-pan layer beneath the surface and open up the sub-soil to improve drainage, root growth and moisture retention. Unlike shallow cultivators, this implement reaches deeper to revitalize soil structure — an investment in long-term field health and productivity.

Key Features & Advantages

Single tine (one-arm) design: With just one heavy duty shank or leg, the machine focuses its energy into one deep penetration path, making it ideal for targeted soil-compaction zones, row-intercrop areas or smaller tractors where wider machines may be overkill.
Deep ploughing / ripping performance: The implement is built to go significantly deeper than conventional tillage tools. The pointed, high-strength chisel leg slices through dense, compacted layers, allowing air and water to penetrate and distribute evenly. For example, similar single-shank models can reach depths up to ~550 mm (22 in) or more.
Improved drainage and moisture retention: By breaking the lower “pan” layer created by repeated shallow tillage or heavy traffic, the implement enhances water infiltration — reducing surface runoff and enabling the soil to act as a reservoir during drier spells.
Heavy duty construction: The main frame and tine are built from strong materials designed to withstand the stresses of deep ripping — especially in hard or stony soils. High-tensile steels and hardened shank/chisel tips are often used in comparable designs.
Adjustable working depth: The implement allows you to set the depth of penetration, typically via the top-link of the 3-point linkage on the tractor, enabling customization based on soil condition and crop needs.
Minimal soil disturbance at surface: Unlike full‐ploughing implements which invert large soil volumes, the sub-soiler disrupts compaction while leaving the top soil relatively intact — helping preserve surface structure, reduce erosion and maintain residue cover.
